Pancakes for Breakfast

Pancakes for Breakfast

These are literally the perfect pancakes, if you are looking for something sweet in the morning. Easy to make, literally takes like 20 minutes.

The recipe is Jamie Oliver’s , and I use it every time I want to make something a bit more special for breakfast. These American pancakes are amazing with fruit, crème fraîche or syrup.. anything.

What you’ll need :

( for about 10 pancakes )

  • 6 large free-range eggs
  • 250 g plain flour
  • 2 heaped teaspoon baking powder
  • 280 ml milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • topping you’ll want to add to your pancakes ( fruits, powdered sugar, lemon juice, syrup, etc. )

First separate the eggs, putting the whites into one bowl and the yolks into another. Add the flour, baking powder and milk to the yolks and mix to a smooth thick batter. Whisk the whites with the salt until they form stiff peaks. Fold into the batter and it is ready to use!

Heat a good non-stick pan on a medium heat. Pour some of your batter into the pan and fry for a couple of minutes until it starts to look golden brown. Then with a spatula and flip the pancake over. Continue frying until both sides are golden.

You can make these pancakes large or small, to your liking. You can serve them simply with maple syrup and even with some butter or crème fraîche. We just went for the plain pancakes with some butter and fruits. Enjoy 🙂
